Song Explorers

A Musical Community Without Barriers

Song Explorers is a group for members from all choirs with profound and multiple learning disabilities and other complex needs. It is run by Soundabout.

We understand that different people process songs and sounds in different ways, that’s why wanted to start a group along side your usual choir to support everyone’s engagement and enjoyment.

Fortnightly online sessions with Choir Leader Emma, focusing on the same songs in the main choir sessions, but exploring them in a more tailored way.

Please see our Song Explorers Video for more information.

What is it like to be a Choir Member

“Together – Song for Wiltshire” by Wiltshire Inclusive Choir
The Place Where The Lost Things Go – solo by Megan, Wiltshire Inclusive Choir

The smile as the hello songs begin says it all …

The sense of achievement when the others have enjoyed his performance. Immense pride …

To see my daughter’s face light up when she was asked to play her ukulele was priceless …
