About Our Choirs
The Soundabout Choirs are musical communities without barriers for people all ages and all abilities, with a focus on giving a voice to people with severe and profound learning disabilities.
Soundabout launched its first Inclusive Choir in Oxford, 2019. Following on from the success of their inclusive ‘jamming session’ for BBC Music Day 2018 at Didcot Parkway Station and working with Steph Pirrie of the Jericho Singers, Soundabout have created a regular opportunity for learning Disabled people of all ages to collaborate within the thriving community of Oxford and beyond. Since then we have expanded to a network of choirs across the UK working with local music hubs to deliver sessions both in-person and virtually.

There is no cost to being a member of the choirs. If you or someone you know might be interested in joining a Soundabout Inclusive Choir, find out more and register on the individual choir pages. Once you have signed up you can the register to access our members area which contains all the songs we are learning (past and present!) and any other relevant information.
During the pandemic in 2020 and 2021 the choirs continued to meet and sing together on Zoom, which helped us to develop a hybrid way of working. There are now groups across the country run in partnership with local music hubs and organisations.
